Triesenberg

High above the Rhine Valley, like an eagle's nest, lies the Walser municipality of Triesenberg. Liechtenstein's sun terrace is the highest and largest municipality in the Principality in terms of surface area.
Triesenberg is a village with a rich history: around 1280 the Walser settled in the area. This heritage can still be found everywhere today. The locals are proud of their Walser origins and speak a well-preserved Walser dialect. About 2,660 people live in Triesenberg. The greatest wealth of the community is its unspoilt nature. At 700-2,000 metres above sea level, the municipality offers everything the heart desires. The variety of the landscape and the view of the Rhine Valley and the distance are increasingly fascinating. Winter sports enthusiasts will also be thrilled. In Steg and Malbun you will find interesting sports facilities. Triesenberg is not a place for large industrial or service companies. The strengths of the mountain community are an attractive residential community and a strong local trade offering training and employment. As a local recreation area for Liechtenstein and the region, soft and sustainable tourism is becoming increasingly important.
